»  Background to this website.
  • May 2005 - I've tried to correct all the browser-specific bugs which were messing up printing; if you have difficulty in printing any page, please do let me know - and I'll tear some more hair out.
  • May 2005 - added a few links to websites which focus on Seasonal Eating and/or Cooking; also my AddFreeStats account "collapsed", so I've installed a new counter (started 12th May).
  • April 2005; November-ish weather set me finding out about "regular weather patterns", so I've update the monthly job calendars and the weather page.
I've also added a lot of new links, and Allotments and the Law; the latter is not brilliant, but it is a first step to try and pull together resources in different places and otherwise hard to find?
  • January 2005; trying to adapt the site so that it can be used by the Mozilla/Firefox browser; I won't bore you with details, but I must record my debt of gratitude to John Harrison and Brian Allen who have done so much to help me track down and resolve the problems.   Thanks, guys!
  • April-June 2004; diary of Seacroft Hall site stops due to vandalism.   Restart diary for our new plot on Oakwood Lane site; also start beekeeping section.
  • January, 2004; general rewriting and design
  • November, 2003; Vegetables updated.   Also added - a page on dried Broad Beans, and updated in the light of experience - Allotment Pests
  • October, 2003; "How to use a spade" added; after watching a neighbour!   And I've rewritten the Green Manure section to reflect my experience.
  • September, 2003 - Diary restarted.
  • From a second-hand bookshop - The Horticultural Notebook; it's filled with information I haven't seen in the modern "picture books".   As I come across useful/interesting nuggets, I'm adding them on to the website.
    • First snippet; using weeds to assess your soil - February 2003.
  • New guest-book added - the other was not as reliable or as flexible - December 2002.
  • Slug information rewritten to include the secret history of slug pellets! Links added - August, 2002.
  • Site Search and Site Map facilities added hosted by FreeFind - June, 2002.   Site "cleaned up" and optimised for search and site map - July 2002.
  • Techniques - improved with thanks to the members of the GrowFiL/WEA Organic Vegetable Gardening Course
    • Rotation pages improved - April, 2002
    • Composting pages improved - May, 2002
